Misc. Toyota Supra tech tips
 | How to turn off the airbag light |
 | The driver's side of the hood sometimes doesn't latch. Ever
notice your hood vibrate at high speed? Then push here firmly,
and if you hear a click, then you'll know it wasn't latched completely. To fix,
hand-tighten the two rubber bumpers under the hood. Click here
for a picture. |
 | Got a strange rattle coming from the rear? Tighten the targa
top bolts. |
 | If the brake rotors won't come off easily, insert the
appropriate sized bolt into the hole in the rotor and tighten. |
 | It is normal to have quite a bit of slack in the throttle
cables. |
 | When removing the spark plugs, just undo the two 10mm bolts
holding each coil pack. This allows you to remove the coil packs in pairs. Also, the 2
crankcase ventilation hoses are a bitch to get back on and are prone to cracking. Buy news
hoses beforehand, just in case (part numbers 12263-46010 and 12264-46010). |
 | Keep the intercooler hose clamps tight, they can pop off
under high boost. |
 | Don't tighten the Cusco strut tower bars too much (the two
bolts opposite the 5/16" hex nut), or you will hear loud creaking (especially at high
rpm) from the front of the car. 50 lb-ft works good on my car. When installing the front
bar, you'll have to move the resistor pack. I relocated mine here,
notice the tie-wraps holding it in place. |
